Unlocking creativity through mosaic.
Town Hall Gallery is pleased to host Creativity Unlocked an exhibition by the Mosaic Association of Australia & New Zealand (MAANZ) exhibition, Victorian Branch.
For this exhibition MAANZ has invited mosaic artists of all skill levels to think creatively by challenging them to include objects not usually associated with mosaic into their work. For the purpose of this exhibition the objects are a lock and a key. Each artist will apply their own personal style and experience to the challenge, and as a result the public will see thought provoking and inventive mosaics in both wall mounted and sculptural forms.
There are two public programs being held in conjunction with this exhibition, both are free to attend and allow viewers insight into the fascinating process of mosaic.
In Conversation: Join selected exhibiting artists in conversation as they discuss the intricacies of mosaic. Saturday 9 April 2pm to 3pm.
Open Studio Saturday: join artists from MAANZ in their temporary studio adjacent to the gallery. This is a great opportunity to view them as they work on current projects and ask questions about mosaic. Saturday 16 April 12pm to 5pm.
Creativity Unlocked is open to the public from Wednesday 30 March to Sunday 1 May.
There is a People's Choice award as part of this exhibition, actually there are 6 awards! You can vote for your favourite wall piece or sculptural piece via our poll! Go to this link to view the works and select your favourite!
