Helen Bushell is a senior and iconic figure in the kite-making world. She holds international patents in kite design and is internationally recognised for her work. This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate a unique area of creative endeavour and design, and to shine the spotlight on a remarkable talent.

During her lifetime, Helen has designed and made 100s of kites, for sale and for her own collection, flown in Australia and at festivals overseas. She has lectured with the Council for Adult Education and the Craft Association of Victoria, and authored a number of books on kite design and flying techniques. Her information sheets were distributed at the regular flying days of the Australian Kite Association during the 1980s.
