GUY, Lyn, Only Way to Travel (2017), 83 x 66 cm, Shapewell, Pellum, Silk DuPont, Procion dyes, Monofil thread, rayon embroidery threads. Image courtesy of the artist.

Using silks and threads self-dyed by the artist to achieve a particularly unique palette of colours, Guy’s textile artworks draw primarily from images of Venice. The images are created by collaging together many small pieces of silks to build up the scenes, and then held into place a system of fluid sewing and stitching across the finished piece.
