Yes, it is the date that everyone has been waiting for! Town Hall Gallery is set to reopen to the public on Friday 22 November!!! We are very excited!
We have loads of wonderful public programs and workshops planned for the opening weekend so all you art lovers can come and get your hands dirty and explore the new spaces in the Hawthorn Arts Centre.
Many of our followers have been asking about how to exhibit with us at the new Town Hall Gallery in 2014. Currently we will not be taking any applications but you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our mailing list for information as it comes to hand - or keep an eye on the blog!
So what's in the crate? One of oldest collection works Jeanne d'Arc by Raffaello Romanelli was crated and transported to offsite storage during the redevelopment. Some of you may remember this beautiful marble sculpture that featured in the former Hawthorn Town Hall foyer. Joan (as we affectionately call her), was carefully crated for storage in early 2012. Just recently, she was sent to a team of professional conservators to be cleaned before she makes her return to the Hawthorn Arts Centre later this year.
We hope that you will come in when we reopen and greet Joan upon her return!
